Sarah Allen

Flautist and accordionist, Sarah Allen, is a founder member of the highly acclaimed, flute-based, Anglo-Irish folk band, Flook, who have been touring the world for the best part of 20 years, invigorating the folk scene with their mix of traditional tunes with contemporary beats.

Sarah was previously a key member of another groundbreaking band on the UK folk scene, The Barely Works, and has toured with The Waterboys and Sally Barker, amongst others.

Sarah gained an MA and a BA (Hons) in music from Oxford University and then went on to train in running workshops at Community Music (now CM). Alongside her performing career, Sarah has continued to teach in many different musical situations including one-to-one flute lessons, flute music workshops, general music workshops and teaching music in nursery, Primary and Secondary schools.

Sarah has worked alongside Kitty Pidduck in Bangers & Smash and also contributed flute and accordion to popular children’s CD, And… Don’t tell your Mama by The Bisky Batz.
